Okay so that is also on a bunch of motivational posters, it is just a saying. It doesn’t really mean that I can do it. Well actually it does. If you follow AuctionAnything.com or read Romance novels, you know the name Brenda Novak.
Brenda is a romance novelist whose youngest son was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. Rather than sit by and say, “I am just one person what can I do,” Brenda got active. Fast forward 6 years and nearly $1.3 million raised later and you can see that one person can make a difference. In fact, in each of the past 2 years, she has raised over $300,000.
Doesn’t she have a big staff to help her?
I would love to say yes, but the answer is no. In fact until last year, she didn’t have anybody but herself. These days she has some part time help but it largely rests on her shoulders.
Surely being famous has helped her auction be successful.
Now you have me on that one. Her connections through her writing likely have helped her find some followers and some pretty unique items. So $300k is out of your reach because you aren’t famous.
